This month of November, Javier Alcázar, a part-time PhD student, is on a research stay at GEAMA. Javier Alcázar is a lecturer at the State University of Milagro (Ecuador) and he and his colleague Omar Yagual are working on their doctoral thesis at GEAMA. While Omar Yagual has decided to settle in A Coruña as a full-time student for the completion of his thesis, Javier Alcázar is carrying out his annual research stay at GEAMA.
Javier Alcázar’s thesis, supervised by Alfredo Jácome, is entitled «Kinetic and efficiency evaluation of the simultaneous removal of organic matter and nitrogen from urban wastewater using a submerged aerated bed at pilot scale». Omar Yagual’s thesis is entitled «Evaluation of small-scale hydroelectric potential in Andean hydrological basins with the Iber model. Chimbo river basin in Ecuador as study case» and is supervised by Luis Cea.
