Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting a visit from Dr. Lizete Días, the Head of the Water Resources Department of the Regional Water Administration of Southern Mozambique (ARA Sul), accompanied by technician Ernesto Tivane. Dr. Días and Mr. Tivane were given a detailed tour of our laboratory facilities. We highlighted the different experimental setups, research equipment, and methodologies used in our hydraulic and hydrological studies. To conclude the visit, Professor Luis Cea (Universidade da Coruña), delivered a presentation titled «Numerical modelling and analysis of the February 2023 flood event in the Umbeluzi catchment (Mozambique)». The presentation introduced a practical methodology for flood modeling using freely available satellite data on a global scale.
The visit served as an excellent platform for sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration between our institutions.
