The Universitat Politècnica de València has awarded the prizes corresponding to the VII Edition of the IIAMA Awards for the best Academic Work in Water Engineering. Among the winners is Juan Naves García-Rendueles, member of the GEAMA group, who has received the second prize «Water and city» for his doctoral thesis Wash-off and sediment transport experiments in a full-scale urban drainage physical model, directed by José Anta and Jerónimo Puertas, GEAMA researchers at the University of A Coruña (UDC).
The thesis aims to increase, from an extensive experimental campaign, the knowledge on the processes of wash off and transport of pollutants in urban basins during rainfall events.
