The work carried out in environmental geology is included in the various mining projects carried out, as well as in the reports and expert opinions issued and detailed in the corresponding section.
Rock Mechanics and Petrophysics
GEAMA-HYGA has developed extensive works of petrophysical and rock mechanics characterization applied to different fields of Civil Engineering, as well as mining waste recovery. A large part of this work has been carried out in the context of collaborations with companies in the energy sector.
Geological storage of CO2
From its experience and infrastructure, GEAMA-HYGA has participated in different leading research projects, highlighting experimental work at high pressure and temperature to characterize the thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical behavior of potential seal or storage rocks for the geological storage of CO2.
Valorization of Mining and Industrial Waste
The reuse of the different materials obtained as waste in industrial processes to confer an added value is another of the professional lines developed. Among these materials, the so-called granite «sawdust», flying ashes and fuel oil waste stand out.
